Day 1
Character
Uncle Hj Dahlan
Uncle Hj Roslan
Uncle Hj Bahrum
Father Hj Hanapi
and me, Lisyah
Went to our shop, Citytextcopy Enterprise around 8.30 a.m. Waited for Uncle D and Uncle R for approximately 2 hours. We used Kia Carnival and went to Kuala Belait to fetch my father's sifu,Uncle B. Then we went to Boulevard, Miri. Uncle B bought three short pants, Uncle R just one, and me also one. Uncle B and me got one thing in common (Later in this post, I found out that we both got more than one thing in common, just keep reading to find out more), we love sleeping in short pants. We walked around a little bit, then off to Miri International Airport. I saw Arif Koh with his parent. He was on the girl section. He seemed busy that I decided not to disturb him. His mother helped him select t-shirts (I assumed it's for his Girlfriend) ARif, If you are reading this, I like your hair. :)
The Airport was more comfortable than Brunei International Airport. It is not as big as Brunei, but the whole structure is well planned. I dont like the Surau, its not that clean. But I think that is what you get in a city dominated by non-moslems. Our flight delayed till 10 p.m. It was supposed to departure around 7 p.m. My Uncles and dad were pissed. But AirAsia was kind enough to give us food coupon.
My first thought before this trip was that it would be boring. Fortunate for me that it did not turned out as I expected it to be. It was heaven lot of fun. I was pampered throughout our trips. My uncles paid my food bills and most of everything.
Our plane arrived around 10 p.m. We got a drunken passenger onboard the plane. Shame to say that it was a Bruneian. According to my father (X-RBA manager), AirAsia have every right to forbid that guy from boarding the plane. But I guess, the stewardesses were quiet new thus did nothing about it. It had been a very long time since I last board a plane. The moment the plane take off, I could'nt hear a thing. The pressure really got into me. I barely heard a sound throughout the 2 hour 15 min journey.
I couldnt remember the exact time our plane arrived at LCCT. The drunken dude was snoring so loud that I was awake from my deep slumber. We went to KL centre via AirAsia Bus service. The journey took about an hour. A crew sat beside me. Once we arrived, we used two taxis and went to Coronade Hotel.
We unpacked our things, and went to bed. My room number was 1411 at the 14th floor.
Day 2
Woke up early. We went to Times Square for the seminar. I used body foam for my hair and hair conditioning for my body. I was really tired to even read the labels. We went to Starbuck for our breakfast. Had mayonnaise and tuna bread, and hazelnut chocolate. Uncle D gave me a doughnot, Uncle R gave me Tuna, my dad gave me chicken sandwich. Three girls were watching at our direction and giggled. Wished I knew why.
The seminar started at 9 a.m. We arrived 10 minutes earlier. The room was already crowded with enthusiast like us. The seminar was held on floor 14 of times square. The whole experienced was inspiring. The food provided was SUPERB. We ate weird chickens, delicious kuew tiao, some western cuisine foreign to me. There was another seminar held near our room. It was about internet MLM. Again with every MLM, comes the so called miracle product. Man, how stupid people can be when comes to earning money. MLM is about making people above you richer which at the same time make your life more poorer unless you got large number of downline (People directly under you) who again become poorer to support your position within that organization.
After the seminar, we went back to hotel. After few minutes of rest, we walked around the shopping area surrounding the hotel. Uncle B joined us since he got nothing to do. He did his shopping earlier. The first item I bought was a wallet for my friend. I bought it at a shopping complex, is it Bintang Plaza? Cant recall. I was busy looking at items to even bothered the name of the shopping complex. Then we went to Guardian just near a famous hotel....cant remember the name. The place was surrounded by at least 6 massage centres. And for the first time in my life, I was surprised that massage service requires heavy marketing to ensure its survival in the alternative therapy market. Usually in Brunei, massage services are barely marketed. I was tempted to try one of the shop, but then my uncles and dad decided to shop at Sogo.
We rented two taxis. Me, Uncle R and Uncle B in one taxi, my pop and Uncle D in another taxi. Malaysian have the worst Driving skills I ever experienced in my life!! I thought a friend of mine was the only reckless driver I know!!! The funny thing is, this kind of driving is like a norm to them. It is acceptable. Which is interesting. If we drive the way Malaysia drive here in Brunei, you would expect a punch from a 'typical' Bruneian.
Since we arrived early, Uncle B treated us to a drink or I think he did. Throughout the trip, I didn't paid a single dime for my food. All is paid by my uncles and dad. I was pampered all day long. Anyway, I ordered chocolate. Whatever I ordered, Uncle R ordered the same thing. We have certain things in common. Uncle B ordered...cant remember. Lets moved on. Dad and Uncle D were late. I was half way through my drink when they came. We talked random stuffs. I was surprised that I was able to conform to a group of middle age men. I thought I would be the silent totem throughout the trip. How fortunate.
We parted ways. I went to the top floor. The first thought I had was 'what should I buy for my friends?' Should it be expensive or sentimental? Fancy or just plain product. Then I said, its not about what its how sincere I am in buying things for my friend. I cant write what I bought, if you want to know what I bought for my 3 friends, asked them yourselves. I bought two pink clothes. A new colour to my wardrobe. Havent try it on yet. Planning to do it on the next Saturday hang out. I bought lots of stuffs. The last place I visited inside Sogo was the perfume section. I bought Acqua Di Gio. The saleslady was said "Banyak barang wak beli, nak balik kampong?" I smiled and went out. How rude of me.
I wandered aimlessly through the shopping areas near Sogo. It was 9++ on my dad's phone. He lend me his phone before we parted ways. I left my phone back in Brunei. I was feeling a bit dissapointed, we were supposed to visit Times Square (Biggest mall in KL!!!!) but it was too late by the time we get there. Next visit I suppose.
Went back to hotel. Put down our things then went off to nearby restaurant. Ate Nasi Ayam. Uncle B got huge stomach. He ate 2 and half plate of rice. I ate just one. Uncle D offered his chicken, I politely declined. There was a performance by a local band nearby. The songs sang were mostly from the 80s and my dad and Uncles love it. My dad started to sing along, I was actually embarassed by his behaviour. In a while, I began to accept it. Behind those fatherly figure is a human being with emotion that needs to have fun just like the rest of us.
The moment I waited for had arrived. REFLEXIOLOGY!!!! WOHOOO!!!!! Love the foot massage. I was massage by this cute man (Does it sound weird coming from a man like me?) My father asked him to massage him instead because my dad's massager was too weak to cause him any comfort from the session. Sigh...so much for getting a new friend. Uncle B was complaining the whole 1 hour. It was his first time. He went "Cho Meng A" "Inda lagi ku buat nie (I will not do it again) I laughed at every comments he made. My right foot is more painful compare to my left. I would love to this again sometime soon. I hope my Saturday family wants it.
We went home and straight to bed.
Day 3
Woke up early. All of us went to this famous restaurant, I cant remember what its name. We had Nasi Lemak and American toast. Then we went to a shopping complex, and we stopped by a toy vendor. A young guy approach me and said "What kind of toys do you like sir?" I was taken aback by his eyes. That eyes look familiar. It was few moments later did I realized I was starring at him. I smiled and said no. We went to Amo Ramos? Am I right? Well, there was a promotion going on. 1 kg rm 60 for rock chocolate. I was tempted to buy but father said "You aint paying for the luggage"
Walked around a little bit. Saw this hot European girl. Then saw the most best place in the world, BOOKSTORE!!! Bought Law of Attraction and God Delusion. Best books worth my money. Then we went back to hotel. We packed our things and went to KL centre. The bus was HOT!!! I sweated. So much for comfort. The bus stopped buy this racing track. The cars were COOL!!! Must be the man in me. :)
We arrived at the Low Cost Terminal. Waited for our flight and went home. There were lots of things happened between this period. But I decided not to write it here. I shared too much already about my life. If I am too write any further, you may get bored. So there you have it, my experience in KL. I would loved to go there again before my semester starts. Oh Aston here I come sweet heart. :)
